Marco Delogu - Art and Horses
Conceived specifically for the spaces of the Paolo Antonacci gallery, the exhibition explores the relationship between classical art and photography.
The title of the exhibition is inspired by a series of works dedicated to horses. The exhibition opens with two large life-sized photographs of steeds, taken in a natural light studio built at the Capannelle racetrack—an environment designed to recreate the diffuse northern light—where Marco Delogu photographed purebred horses against a white backdrop in a logic of total suspension, reduction, and clarity. Also on display are photographs of the Roman Heads from the Halls of Emperors and Philosophers in the Capitoline Museums, along with a new series exploring relationships with the masterpieces of Antonello da Messina, currently exhibited at Palazzo Bellomo in Ortigia.
