Carlo BUGATTI 1856-1940
This sophisticated and valuable ebonised walnutwood frame, a product of Carlo Bugatti's creative verve, comes from Baron Branca's collection in the Villa Tib in Grassina, where the baron had commissioned the artist to manufacture furniture and a series of fixtures and fittings for his property.
The wooden frame is partly lined in whitened doeskin and is fitted with embossed copper applications, brass inlay work and floral decorations in pewter.
The orientalist painting in the Bugatti's frame depicts a Barber's Shop.
